Langham Village Garden Fête Nearly a thousand people of all ages visited Langham Garden Fête and enjoyed mostly fine weather despite the forecasts. The fête was held on August Bank Holiday Monday 2012 in aid of Village Hall refurbishments which will benefit by a total of something over £2250 including a donation from the WI. Special thanks go to Mr and Mrs Tony Ruddle who kindly allowed the fête to take place in their immaculately tended garden which incidentally was a considerable point of interest to many of the visitors. There were various games and raffles, white elephants, books, toys, plants, charity stalls, a beer tent and ice cream van. The cake stall and tombola were both entirely sold out before 1.00pm. The barbecue and WI refreshments serving tea and cake plus more substantial lunches did a roaring trade. The face painting was particularly popular with the youngsters and the Fun Dog show was enjoyed by everyone. Musical accompaniments catered for all tastes, thanks to Bob Cliffe on electric guitar and a Rosemary Wright on accordion taking turns. It was particularly nice to see so many families enjoying the day.
